Adventure & Learning Tours

You may have a new interest in sea kayaking and want to learn more, or have been on a tour and want to make sea kayaking a regular part of your recreational activities. Either way, you will need some skills that are essential for the independent paddler.

The Tofino Kayaking School has courses for all skill levels. We also have weekend courses and day clinics offered for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. To learn the basics of touring we recommend our 6-day Coastal Touring in the Wild, or our 6-day Wimmin Seeking Wild.

Upon registration, we will send a complete information kit outlining what we provide and what we suggest you bring.

Prices include all kayaking gear, camping equipment and food. All prices are in Canadian dollars. (The additional $50 charge is for return motor boat transportation.)

Coastal Touring in the Wild $1350.00 | 6 days | This exciting program combines the pleasures of a wilderness expedition with the opportunity to learn the skills necessary for safe paddling. Your guides/instructors will emphasize knowledge of the dynamic ocean environment. They will guide you in the development of sound judgment and decision-making that responds to changing weather and sea conditions. Technical skills are taught progressively as you journey through this extraordinary coastal wilderness, learning paddling techniques, navigation, route-planning and camp selection. In the Wild will give you the skills required to independently enjoy the world of sea kayak adventuring in safety and with appropriate skills and valued confidence.
